Vehicle Focus: The New Bailey Endeavour – The First Camper by Bailey!

08.12.23

You’ll already know we stock many Bailey motorhomes for sale. What you may not know – yet! – is that there is also now a campervan, and it’s exceptional.

In what may have been a surprise move to some, this year the highly regarded Bristol-based leisure vehicle manufacturer Bailey moved into the campervan market for the first time. No tentative steps, though. The Bailey Endeavour is a bold and confident vehicle, innovatively crafted with precision and packed with everything anyone could need from a panel van conversion. It was launched to acclaim and admiration at the Caravan & Motorhome Show in Birmingham in October. In this edition of our blog, we’ll focus on the best features of the two distinct models - and explain why it could be just the van for you…

1.   Driving

The Bailey Endeavour is built on a Ford Transit chassis with a 2.0-litre 155 bhp engine and a 6-speed automatic gearbox, so presents the driver with a solid, comfortable and reliable drive. There are plenty of cab features to support the experience (including air conditioning, cruise control, rear-view camera, parking sensors, and an infotainment system featuring integrated sat nav and a high quality touchscreen HD display). The exterior is finished with a very smart Chrome Blue and contrasting matt black exterior graphics scheme and trim, making it a modern and truly eye-catching option when you’re looking for a stylish statement vehicle to take out on the road.

2.   Living

The Bailey Endeavour showcases an interior which is as much about ambience and aesthetics as it is day-to-day living. The panoramic glass overcab sunroof bathes the interior in natural light and generates a sense of wellbeing, while top-quality finishes and materials such as Light Oak and Satin Cashmere are used to elevate the Endeavour above the norm. Anthracite furniture, Apollo soft furnishings and Hazelnut drop-in carpets complete the environment’s attention to enhancing lifestyle through thoughtful luxury detailing.

The kitchen is well-kitted so that all culinary needs are easily met, and includes a Thetford Triplex combi oven and grill, a 90-litre fridge, a sink with a mixer tap and plenty of storage space for all of the bits and pieces you’ll need for cooking and be taking with you on your trips. The wet room includes an Ecocamel shower and Thetford cassette toilet, and a clever revolving tambour partition maximises the available space.

There is a Truma heating and water system to supply you with the hot water and general temperature comfort you need. The Endeavour has a fully insulated bodyshell which utilises a 10cm thick single level bonded floor, a 35mm thick bonded ceiling. The walls are lined with high-performance Interflex ‘Ocean’ EN-1646-1 Grade III classification which provide great thermal insulation.

A 100-watt solar panel and leisure battery ensure moments of self-sufficiency for off-grid living, and the Endeavour is therefore geared towards (as the name suggests) the adventurous outdoor type. If you require a rugged and seriously capable vehicle for your trips away, which also looks good and is well set-up for day-to-day running, then the Endeavour is the one for you.

3.   Models

It is available in two models. The B62 is the two-berth edition which features a customisable rear lounge, perfect for all of your on the road social moments. The B64 is the four-berth version with a convertible front lounge and an additional double bed in the pop-top roof.

As we mentioned at the start of this edition of our blog, the Endeavour is Bailey’s opening salvo in the battle to provide panel van conversion brilliance – and has certainly won admiration already. Bailey campervans have a bright future, as this cleverly thought-out and skilfully engineered van shows. It’s perfect for couples, families or friends intent on fun but serious about heading out on the highway looking for adventure.
