3 minutes well spent

Posted 20th June 2023

Bigger doesn’t necessarily mean best! Motorhomes that clock in at under 3,500kg in weight can be driven right off the forecourt on a standard UK driving licence. This alone makes them the perfect choice for ‘beginners’ or for those couples and families who prefer a more compact and convenient experience. A vehicle above that weight and there are further tests to undertake – and pass! – to gain the correct C1 classification on your driving licence. For many people this is just not a necessary process to go through when a motorhome below 3,500kg doesn’t just provide an adequate experience but an excellent one, perfectly suited to their requirements. Here at Continental, we stock a vast array of lower-weight class motorhomes – new and used – and each one, as we said at the top of this edition of our blog, can be driven straight off the forecourt on a standard UK driving licence. You can browse our website to check out the others, the ones we’ve not had the room to mention here, and if you fancy further details on any of them we’re more than happy to answer any queries you might have. Happy lower-weight class motorhoming! In this edition of our blog, we’ll run through a trio of our true faves – a veritable ‘top of the pops’ of lower-weight class motorhomes…
